A. Jotaway is an online journal tool that allows you to create an unlimited number of journal entries, complete with photos. You can access your jotaway account from anywhere with Internet access, modifying entries, adding new entries, uploading photos, etc.

A. Yes. At the end of the year, you will be asked if you want to renew your jotaway account. If you choose to renew, you can continue editing your journal for another year.

A. Even after your paid period expires, your jotaway journal will remain on line indefinitely. In fact, your journal will stay on line as long as jotaway continues exists.

A. You can create a list of "invitees"—people you would like to see your journal. When you add an invitee to your journal, the invitee is sent an email with information on how to access your journal. Also see "Journal Privacy" below.

A. Yes. By maintaining an invitee list, you can let all invitees know that you have updated your journal by clicking a single button. This sends all of your invitees an email telling them you have updated your journal and reminding them how to get to it.

A. To add an entry, you select one of four templates. Templates are page layouts, and you can choose a different layout for each. For example, one day you may decide you want the journal to contain only text. Accordingly, you would choose the text template. Another day you may decide you want to add text, followed by several photographs. To do this, you simply would select the template for text and photos.

A. Usually, yes. If, for example, you have a text-only entry, and you decide you want to add photos to it, you can change the template. On the other hand, if you use the template that is all photos and decide you want to change it to text only, you cannot.

A. Jotaway allows you to upload any photos that are in JPG format. This means photos that end in .jpg, jpeg, or .jpe. You can upload these photos directly from your hard drive or your digital camera (provided your digital camera stores images as JPG files, which most do.

A. Your photos will appear in your journal entry as a medium-sized image. However, if your original photo is larger than that, visitors to your journal can click an "enlarge" button to see a larger image. For an example, see our sample journal.

A. No. You can have as many as you want in your journal. Just keep in mind that if you have too many photos on one page, that page could take a while to load on a slower connection.

A. Jotaway creates a photos album for you as you upload photos. All of the images you upload with your journal entries are collected in an album.

A. No. Even if your journal is set to "public," only people with your journal code or a direct link to your journal will be able to see your journal. If you set your journal to "private," visitors must have a code and be on your invitee list. In other words, they must enter the code and their email address. If their email address does not match an address on your invitee list, they cannot view your journal.

A. Yes. If you set your journal to "inactive," no one other than you will be able to see it.

A. The seven-day trial account allows you to try jotaway, with no obligation to do anything thereafter. You get to give jotaway a complete try-out so you can decide if it's something you want to use. During the trial period, people you invite to read your journal will have access to it, and you'll be able to upload photos, create multiple entries, etc., just as you would be able to do with a paid account.

A. Your trial account is no different from a paid account, with the exception that your trial account journal will be accessible on line for only seven days. After that, your journal information will remain in our system, but no one will be able to access the journal.

A. Yes. Jotaway uses secure REAL 128-bit SSL encryption through GeoTrust. This means your credit card information cannot be viewed, intercepted, or altered.
